【Abstract】 Objective To investigate clinicopathologic characteristics and analyse survival rate of 108 old patients with gastric cancer in order to provide the basis for early diagnosis and treatment. Methods From June 2005 to December 2010,245 patients with gastric cancer confirmed by pathology after surgery in our hospital were divided into two groups and the clinicopathologic characteristics and survival rates of the two groups were analysed and compared retrospectively. Results The incidence of gastric cancer in the old male group was higher than in the old female group(χ2=5.56,P=0.018).In the old group ,abdominal distension and abdominal pain were the most common symptoms. The sites of cancer were mainly gastric antrum in the old group, but the old group with gastric cancer of cardia and fundus constituted a higher proportion compared to the control group(χ2=6.50,P=0.011).The gastric cancer in the old group was mainly poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma while the proportion of well-differentiated adenocarcinoma was higher than the control group (χ2=14.17,P=0.000).The clinical stage of most old patients were III and IV.The median survival time was 27 months in the old group .The overall survival rate of the old group was lower than the control group (χ2=9.35,,P=0.002) .After radical resection, the survival rate of the old group was still lower compared to the control group(χ2=3.98,P=0.046 ),but in the old group ,the survival rate of those who had got radical resection (χ2=8.24,P=0.004 ) was higher and a total of 1,3,5-year survival rates were 76%,50%and 41% respectively. Conclusion Gastric cancer in old patients is common in male , it has uncharacteristic clinical symptoms and progresses slowly,. the overall survival rate is very low.,early radical resection is helpful to improve the overall survival rate and prognosis.

[Objective] To retrospectively investigate whether the use of docetaxel or paclitaxel adding to anthracycline-based regimen can improve the DFS and OS in luminal A type early stage breast cancer patients. [Methods] From January 2006 to January 2008, there were one hundred and twenty- six patients with Luminal A type early stage breast cancer included in this retrospective study. They were separated into two group according the different chemotherapy regimens, T group 83 patients and A group 43patients. The patients’ age, tumor size, lymph node status, pathology type, DFS and OS were compared between two groups. [Results] The patients’ age, tumor size and lymph node status were no significantly different between the two group. After a median follow-up of 41.1 moths, the DFS and OS was no significantly different between the two group, T 94.0% VS A 95.3%; P=0.75, and T 95.2% VS A 97.7%; P=0.48, separately. [Conclusion] Anthracycline-based regimen is enough for Luminal A type early stage breast cancer, the use of docetaxel or paclitaxel can not improve patients DFS and OS.

【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effects of STAT3 signaling pathway on cells proliferation and VEGF expressing in human colorectal cancer HT-29 cells. Methods HT-29 cells were transfected with the pRNAT-shSTAT3 recombinant plasmids. Real time quantitative PCR and Western-blot were used to quantify the expression of STAT3 gene. The cell growth was assessed by MTT assay. VEGF expression was detected by Real time quantitative PCR and ELISA. Results STAT3 shRNA could inhibit the expression of STAT3 gene in HT-29 cells. In the transfected group with the recombinant plasmid, the proliferation of HT-29 cells was suppressed and VEGF expression was inhibited, which was significantly different from that of the control group(р<0.01).Conclusions STAT3 singling pathway in human colorectal cancer cells can inhibit cells proliferation and VEGF expression greatly.

Objective To investagate the effect of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) on treatment for long period of unhealed wounds. Methods From June 2008 to February 2011, 29 patients suffering from chronic unhealed wounds were received VSD treatment. The data of pain relief rate and wound healing rate were analyzed retrospectively. Results VSD showed obvious effect of pain relief for chronic wounds. 23 patients made obvious improvement and recovered after dressing change or skin grafting. 4 patients got wound narrow and recovered after flap transplantation. 2 cases showed no effect. The effective rate was 79.3%. Conclusion VSD speeds up the chronic wounds healing and relieves pain effectively. It is economic and practical.

[Abstract] Objective Discussion on the treatment method of traumatic cardiac rupture, in order to improve the success rate of rescue. Methods In 15 cases of traumatic rupture of the heart for clinical analysis, the majority of patients after cardiac ultrasound diagnosed, 15 cases were performed open chest operation repair time. Results This group of 14 cases were cured, the cure rate is 93%, 1 cases died, 7%. The group without severe complications. Conclusion Rapid and accurate diagnosis is traumatic cardiac rupture with successful treatment of the premise, the heart color be diagnosed before operation and reliable means of thoracic operation, repair of cardiac rupture is the treatment of traumatic rupture of the heart is the only effective method.

[Abstract] Objective To investigate two cases clinical manifestations, operation opportunities, principles of management for bronchial stump fistula after pneumonectomy. Methods A retrospective data was analysed for bronchial stump fistula of 2 cases after pneumonectomy of lung cancer emerge clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and processing methods. Results Two patients were discharged with complete healing, one of the patients adopting routine transthoracoscope approach to close the bronchial stump, the other patient using the transsternal transpericardial approach to close bronchial stump. Conclusions The bronchial stump fistula should early be diagnosis, continuous thoracic washing, anti-infection, nutritional support therapies. Choosing the proper operative opportunities and the suitable operative mode close the fistula, which are very pivotal.
