Clinical analysis of 20 cases with cranioplasty in the use of digital shaping with titanium mesh

Objective To explore the clinical application effect and methods in cranioplasty with digital shaping with titanium mesh. Methods Clinical data of 20 cases of different kinds skull defect,which our hospital received between Apr 2009~Oct 2010,who were performed cranioplasty with titanium mesh were reviewed retrospectively. Results In 2 cases cranioplasty were adopted immediately after resection of brain tumors. For others the operation time after first operation ranged from 3 to 6 months. After operation, except one case presented secondary epilepsy ,others recovered well with good appearance and without complications like incision infection,subcutaneous effusion and hematoma. Conclusion The digital shaping with titanium mesh is the bestmaterial in cranioplasty for its simp licity, less complications, and excellent effect.
