Abstract: 【Abstract】〓Objective〓To investigate the effect of the herbal yellow-water (traditional Chinese medicine) combined with benzylpenicillin sodium injection on acute lower limb cellulitis. Methods Totally 80 cases of acute lower limb cellulitis patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,with 40 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with 6.4 million U of benzylpenicillin sodium for intravenous drip,Q8h. At the same time, the patients in treatment group were given herbal yellow-water wet dressing, and the patients in control group were treated with 50% magnesium sulfate for wet dressing. Leucocyte count, the symptom relief time, the healing time, the local pain score and the clinical efficacy in two groups were collected and analyzed. Results The clinical efficiency in treatment group and control group were 95% (38/40) and 90% (36/40), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Symptom relief time, healing time in treatment group were shorter than that in control group (P<0.05). Local pain scores on the 3rd, 7th day in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group..No significant difference was found between the two groups in leucocyte count. Conclusion In our study,the traditional Chinese medicine,herbal yellow-water combined with Benzylpenicillin Sodium Injection showed good clinical efficacy in the treatment of acute lower limb cellulitis.
