Abstract: Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy on the rapair of preperitoneal Kugel patch for repairing inguinal hernia with preperitoneal Kugel patch of anterior approach. Methods From Apr. 2004 to May 2005,the clinical date of 25 cases with inguinal heria received repair of preperitoneal Kugel patch via anterior approach were analyzed retrospectively. Results The mean operative time was 40 minutes(35-55 minutes). All cases could left the bed in 6-12 hours after operation. No postoperative urinary retentions, incisional hematomaand infection were found. With postoperative follow-up time for 1-12-month,no recurrence was found. Conclusion Repair of inguinal hernia using preperitoneal Kugel patch of anterior approach is good ideal procedure. It has minimally invasive, tension-free ,safe and postoperative rapid recovery.
