Abstract:

【Abstract】 Objective To explore the effectiveness of chlormadinone acetate in the treatment of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods Thirty-two patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia were included in the study. All patients received chlormadinone acetate (50 mg/d) for 18 weeks. The prostate volume, International Prostate Symptom Score/Quality of Life,(IPSS/QoL), maximum urinary flow rate, international index of erectile function-5 (IIEF-5), and the adverse events were recorded. Results After treatment with chlormadinone acetate, the IPSS, IPSS voiding score, IPSS storage score, QoL, and IIEF-5 significantly decreased in patients(P<0.05). Meanwhile, maximum urinary flow rate significantly increased (P<0.05). Conclusion The therapy with chlormadinone acetate effectively relieves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and improves the quality of life.
